From the Garden Gear range of herb seeds, also known as Beebalm. These Bergamot seeds produce an aromatic herb which is highly attractive to pollinators, such as bees and butterflies, and can also act as an insect repellent, making it perfect to plant alongside crops such as carrots and tomatoes to keep the pests away!
With beautiful, brightly coloured blooms, this herb would look right at home in a flower border too. The fresh or dried flowers and leaves of Bergamot can be used to make a herbal tea or tisane, often referred to as Oswego tea, which can be used to alleviate colds and headaches.
Sow the seeds indoors in early spring or can also be sown in a cold frame or direct sow in mid to late spring. If sowing indoors, pot on into larger pots once established and plant out in early summer. Deadhead regularly to encourage further blooms.
