
From the Garden Gear range of flower seeds, Heartsease, or Viola tricolour, is a delightful wild flower that has lots of small flowers of purple, lavender and yellow. These blooms are produced throughout the whole summer. Plants self-seed freely and look charming allowed to naturalise through a wild flower garden or in woodland clearings.
Best sown where they are to flower in late spring to late summer or early autumn for over wintering. Sow 3mm deep in rows 30cm apart in well cultivated soil that has been raked to a fine tilth. When seedlings appear thin to 15cm apart. They will grow in sun or part shade and in any soil.
